Dr Teresa Borys, a Colorado native, grew up in Greeley, CO. Her love and compassion for animals started at a young age and she knew that becoming a veterinarian was her life's calling. She received her bachelor's degree in Biology from Colorado State University in 2009, and graduated veterinary school from Kansas State University in 2013. Dr Borys then completed a rigorous year-long internship at VCA West Los Angeles in 2014. Dr Borys stayed in LA for a short period of time working at another emergency/general practice clinic before moving back to Colorado and joining Community Pet Hospital in April 2015. Dr Borys was veterinary acupuncture certified in October 2014 and is particularly interested in pain management and alternative therapies.

She lives in Thornton with her husband Roman, their two dogs (Aspen and Mac) and their two cats (Quicksilver and Nubbins). In their spare time, they love enjoying Colorado's beauty in the form of hiking, biking, and snowboarding.
