Lieve Kamholz

Dr. Lieve Kamholz grew up in Oakwood, Ohio.  After she and her husband graduated from Wright State University, Lieve with an Honors Biology degree on a viola performance scholarship, they moved to Colorado so she could attend Colorado State University's Colorado Veterinary Medical and Biomedical Sciences, graduating in 2003.  The daughter of a farming cabinet maker and a nurse, she told her kindergarten teacher that she was going to be a veterinarian, and she was fortunate to be able to make that dream come true.  Dr. Kamholz completed an internship in emergency medicine, with emphasis on surgery, ultrasound, and endoscopy in 2004, at Indianapolis Veterinary Emergency, Medical and Referral Center.  Returning to Colorado, she has practiced primarily emergency medicine since then, and was certified in medical veterinary acupuncture through Colorado State University CVMBS in 2013.  Her interests also include whole food animal nutrition and nutritional supplementation to improve the health of our pets throughout their lifetimes.  She has practiced emergency, mobile and relief work over the last 22 years, but has gratefully joined the Community Pet Hospital team as a permanent member in 2025.  She is the happy owner of two dogs, five cats, and raises a variety of farmyard characters with her family.
